The kids cooled down in the glacial lake while Susan and Carla kept an eye on the resident swans, ducks and geese.

After a few hours in the June sun, we were ready to hit the beach. 

Cooled down and newly energized, we hopped a gondola to the island in Lake Bled.
 
There we climbed 100 stairs to get to a 17th century church that had been built on a prehistoric (Slavic) settlement.

 
The legend is that if you ring the church’s bell three times, you are destined to return to Bled.
We all rang the bell...

 


and hope to return to this lovely place.
