On our first day of official ‘touring’, we showed Nathan and Carla the Kalemegdan Fortress and museum (which we hadn’t seen despite the three years we had lived there)!
  
The kids were intrigued by the old Roman statues and weapons of war, but Susan and Carla most enjoyed the dioramas which really helped us visualize the Fortress through different rulers, ages and purposes.
Nathan loved running around his first open air castle with its myriad levels, ages and conqueror’s touches (Serb, Turk, Austrian, Hun, Roman).
