June always brings a special buzz of excitement because the school year is winding down.  This year, we had special reason to anticipate June because Cousin Nathan and Aunt Carla were coming for a two week blitz through Europe with us!  We had been planning for weeks and had an exceptional ‘castle tour’ all set up for them. 


This would be Nathan’s first time in Europe – and a wonderful ‘return-to-Europe’ visit for Carla (Susan and Carla had traipsed through Western Europe together in (gasp!) 1985).


 They arrived in Belgrade on June 14th, which was our second to last day of school.  We had planned for them to be able to ‘time-zone’ and settle in while we wrapped up the school year.
We enjoyed quiet hang-out time the first two days as we showed them around our neighborhood and school.
We had decided this must be a castle tour – but it turned out to be the ice cream tour (which we enjoyed every day - sometimes twice!).
