We were all excited to go see Sveti Sava. It was a first for Carla and Nathan, and the Stutz family hadn’t been in almost a year. Construction is in full swing and much had been accomplished since our last visit. It was a scorching day, and it was a wonderful relief to enter the church – with its twenty degree cooler interior. |
Green, gold and white marble slabs are up along the walls now and all the construction trucks have been hauled out. The floor is dirt, but it is now smoothed with fewer piles of construction materials strewn around. The dome is still concrete, but several icons grace the front and lots of candles add a ‘work-in-progress’ air to the place. |

Here, we let the kids loose with the cameras and waited with anticipation to see what they thought worth capturing on film. Susan loves this museum, especially the displays about textiles, costumes and basketry. |
After that much culture, the kids decided they deserved some time in the local park. We found an old teeter totter and Nathan took all his energy out launching all of us (except Dave!) in the air? |
