We
packed up the old Skoda and headed off on our last family trip from Belgrade
in April of 2006. Since Susan and the kids would be staying back in the
USA for the upcoming school year, we decided to 'low-key' this vacation
and wrap up our stay in the Balkans by enjoying more of the scenery in
the general area.
We got to see a bit of everything that
makes this region memorable: natural beauty, sky-blue water, ancient ruins,
orange tiled roofs surrounded by medieval walls, and even some grim reminders
of the turbulent history. As a bookend to our time here, we certainly couldn't
have done much better.
Besides, the kids so love to throw rocks
in the water!!!
