We spent the whole morning climbing up and down and in and out and around. We even went into the tunnels dug under the pyramids, which expose the facades of older buildings that were built over (but not destroyed) by those who'd made the later structures. We've included the pictures from around the site into our Copán page 3; see them all here. After rehashing all the adventures at the tourist center (and meeting someone there who knew Dave's mother when she was in Qatar!!), we split up. Mark and Jennifer headed east to Santa Barbara and Tegucigalpa, while we, after replacing a spark plug on 2 different ocasions, made it back to San Pedro Sula. We planned to meet up on Wednesday and head off for the Bay Islands for a weekend of relaxation. |
