St. Sava's Cathedral

Sveti Sava is also a very popular place for weddings to take place. Even though only the small chapel next door is used for the ceremonies, the large building is a very popular location for 'happy couple' pictures. We went one Saturday in June and the kids counted 9 wedding parties making their way around the grounds - often accompanied by Roma musicians.


The kids had a great time exploring the dusty innards of the cathedral - checking out the dusty back hallways and unfinished areas. They stopped for a quick prayer in front of an icon (!!) while some of the large mosaics that will be put on the walls are available to check out on the floor

We will certainly be back at various times to check on the work...
