Racism

  1. Can people of color be racist?
  2. Is it racist to use the term "White" to describe European Americans? Is it racist to use the term "non-White" to describe people of color?
  3. What is the difference between equal opportunity and affirmative action? Do the two policies contradict each other?
  4. Do you support or oppose the idea of racial profiling (for example, greater scrutiny of Arab passengers) in airport security? What about in traffic stops?
  5. In cases of adoption, should agencies try to match the race of children and parents, or should adoptions be carried out in a race-blind manner?

Sexism

  1. How much sexism is there in today's society? In general, is the amount of sexism increasing or decreasing?
  2. How widespread is sexism among females?
  3. Do you think it's sexist to advocate different gender roles for girls and boys?
  4. Is the practice of having all-male clubs or fraternities sexist? And if so, is it sexist to offer all-female organizations, or is that different?
  5. In your opinion (or in your experience), what do you think the most difficult thing is about being a woman in today's society?

Homophobia

  1. Can homosexuals change their sexual orientation if they want to? And if so, can heterosexuals do the same?
  2. Should discrimination based on sexual orientation be outlawed to the same extent as discrimination based on race and sex?
  3. If a heterosexual person has a homosexual experience, would you describe that person as homosexual? What about two experiences, or three, or four? That is, at what point is someone homosexual?
