Schedule and Calendar

School year: September 4 - May 29

Classes and Graduation Requirements:

63 total class choices available

Sixteen full year credits earned in grades nine to twelve are required for graduation. Twelve units must be earned in the last three years.

Each regular student should carry four solid subjects. Students are not allowed to take five subjects unless special permission is granted. If a student desires to take five subjects he must secure a special request blank from the registrar’s office, have it filled out and signed by his parents. This privilege will be granted only if the student has made a B average the preceding year.

Report Cards

Report cards are distributed each nine week period. They are to be signed by a parent or guardian and returned the day following distribution.

Smoking

Students who smoke on the school premises shall be suspended from school.

Corridor Etiquette:

Corridors should be considered as passage ways form one room to another and should not be used as lounging or gathering places either before or after school, or between classes. The following suggestions are to be considered:
  1. Keep to the right of the halls and on the stairways. Walk at a moderately brisk pace without running or pushing.
  2. Always use the stairway nearest the room you are leaving.
  3. Do not gather in the middle of the hall to talk and do not walk more gathered than two abreast.

Employment Regulations:

Students who are working while attending school are asked to file a card in the office of the coordinator giving information concerning their employment. The school has enlarged its service for students finishing school and for those who wish to work part time while attending school. Students desiring work should see Mr. Wadsworth. Students will not be excused form school from school to work unless school work is satisfactory.

Cafeteria

The school cafeteria located in Central building is operated without profit by the Board of Education. The cafeteria committee made up of administrators, the cafeteria manager, the business manager, the home economics instructor, the school nurse, the dietician and the students named from the student councils of the junior and senior high schools are responsible for the general policies.

The cafeteria is supervised by students appointed from the student councils of both schools and faculty representatives.

Cafeteria permits to allow students to go to the head of the line when the have noon hour meetings may be secured in the assistant principal’s office.
