Mesopotamia

Newspaper

 
Each group will be in charge of publishing a Mesopotamian newspaper. Your topics should focus on the Sumerian city-states and empires that followed. You should use the resources available in your notes, the textbook, the classroom, and on the internet.
Each group member will be responsible for a specific number of stories and pictures, and the group will recieve a grade on how the entire paper is 'laid out.'
Topics (sections of the paper):
  1. News from the schools
  2. City Happenings
  3. World Events
  4. Government
  5. Crop report
  6. Feature story (an indepth look at some aspect of life - farming, entertainent, sculpture - something that you find interesting)
  7. Social Pages - a close up of an important person from Mesopotamia
  8. Weather
  9. Sports
  10. Religion
  11. Horoscope (fortune telling)
  12. Arts (art show, music recital, poetry reading, 'book' publications)
  13. Holidays (tithing due at the ziggurat, days of celebration, etc)
  14. Classified ads
  15. Others as you see fit
Your stories should contain elements of facts in them, but you are free to write the stories in a fun, 'school appropriate' manner.
