An Internet Web Page

Copyright Issues

Copyright on the internet is a touchy subject. The best rules of thumb are to always
A) Follow the rules posted and
B) Ask permission
If a site says not to use its graphics, then don't!! If there's no all-powerful disclaimer, then:
  • Try to reach the author via email and request permission to use the image; or
  • If you are unable to reach them (say, because the school won't let you email), then include a link back either on the page (right below the picture) or on a credits page

Naming Issues

  • Do NOT NOT NOT use any spaces or fancy symbols ($, #, @, ! for example) in the titles of your files.
  • Have the names reflect your name and the contents (eg. "stutzhomepage", "maryslinks")
