When the rugs are dry, they have to
be trimmed. Not only does this even out the rug, but it makes the pattern
stand out more. Depending on whether the final rug would have a thick or
thin pile, a different set of horizontal 'scissors' is used. You can imagine
the air in the sealed-off room: hot and filled with all sorts of floating
dust and wool. Not a job for the asthmatic.
