The column of Marcus Aurelius and Palazzo Montecitorio

The column commemorating the life and German campaigns of Marcus Aurelius was built around 190CE, some 60 years after Trajan's column. It now stands in the Piazza Colonna, and gives a much more brutal veiw of war-waging than does its older, more famous brother
Just down the road is the Palazzo Montecitorio, built in the 1600s and the home of the Italian Senate since 1870.
